Liverpool! Liverpool!!

GO REDS!!!!Liverpool What a stunning performance by Liverpool tonight in the Champions League Final. 3-0 down to Milan at half-time, they looked crushed. Then in the second half they came back to make it 3-3 at full time. They survived several near misses during a goalless extra time, and won the penalty shoot-out 3-2 to win the title. Sheer determination. Congratulations!

(And now as the officials prepare for the medal ceremony, the Liverpool fans are singing "You'll never walk alone"....)

it was an incredible match. A friend at the pub convinced his Scouser girlfriend to stay at the half, when she still had about a half-pint of Woodchuck left. By the time she'd finished it, the match was 3 all. Condolences to AC's supporters.

It will be a shame if they are'nt allowed to defend next year.

Agreed absolutely. Someone (FIFA, FA) have to work something out.

Strange as it may sound, this Liverpool supporter thinks that the wrong thing happened when UEFA granted an extra place for Liverpool to defend the trophy. Either the FA should have put Liverpool forward as the 4th qualifier from England, or they shouldn't. As it is, the English FA's inability to control the greed of the Premierleague clubs has been masked by UEFA, at the same time making the division of spoils in European football even less equitable than it previously was.

Anyhow, I'm still coming to terms with Liverpool being European champions. Strange how when a dream like that comes true you feel a little empty afterwards.
